Jewish-Muslim Interfaith Directory Launches to Foster Dialogue
September 3rd, 2010. Published under Construction Discussions. No Comments.
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 21, 2009
JewishMuslimDirectory.org today announced the launch of an online interfaith directory to facilitate dialogue between Jewish and Muslim communities in the United States. The website’s central feature is a comprehensive directory of organizations and individuals involved in interfaith dialogue across the country.
The site’s founders, members of both the Muslim and Jewish faiths, were spurred to create a comprehensive directory of interfaith organizations after successfully engaging in dialogue activities during their time as students at the University of Pennsylvania. Struggling to match the depth and frequency of engagement outside of their university experience, the founders saw the need for a single site that could direct interested parties to appropriate groups across the country.
“By cataloging many of the organizations approaching the interfaith space, JewishMuslimDirectory.org hopes to increase access to interreligious and intercultural organizations across the country” said Samir Malik, the site’s co-founder and a former president of the University of Pennsylvania’s Muslim Students’ Association. “Interfaith works. As students, we were surrounded by open-minded peers immersed in a culture of isolation and self-segregation. By taking steps to bridge the gap between the Jewish and Muslim communities at Penn, we helped to foster an environment of dialogue and mutual respect” Malik said.
Aiming to extend those efforts beyond the college environment, JewishMuslimDirectory.org allows visitors to search for organizations and share feedback about successful programming with other users. Intended as user friendly and participatory, users can add organizations to the directory by submitting contact information through a simple web interface.
“Though the site is primarily a tool for finding relevant organizations nearby, it is also a forum for exchanging ideas” said co-founder Sam Adelsberg, who also leads LendForPeace.org. “We actively encourage visitors to add and update their organization information and to participate in constructive discussion about successful interfaith programming” he said.
With this launch, JewishMuslimDirectory.org hopes to contribute to the broader effort of improving relations between the United States’ Muslim and Jewish communities.

The increasing number of construction projects in the US alone, is a testimony to the above statement. In today’s time, there is no need to invest time and efforts in building contacts. Every kind of information is just a click away. Construction business is the in-thing in today’s time. Many private and commercial construction projects are coming up everyday. To give you information about the nitty gritties of the construction business, there are online portals which keep updating their databases from time to time. Targeting not only a niche community, but also the common public, these online portals provide the latest updates about the current construction reports. Construction, though seems like just a masonry work, is far from being a single activity. A huge amount of planning, designing and multitasking is required to execute the project well. A lot of things are to be kept in mind, such as the environmental impact, successful scheduling, budgeting, availability of materials and logistics, legal considerations and timely completion of the project to reduce the inconvenience caused to the public, during the whole process.
Bidding of tenders is one of the important stages of the overall construction process. There are different methods of construction procurement, like the traditional way of design-bid-build, the second way of design-and-build and the third, marketing contracting. To succeed in today’s competitive world, we need to know things before others. The updated databases of online portals provide the latest information about the construction project bids, which helps the bidders in investing/bidding at the right time.
Such portals also have a customer service cell, which answers all your queries in minimum possible time. Once you register on these portals, you get email alerts, construction project reports and company reports which give you an updated picture of the Construction Business regularly.

I am going to take my Project Management Professional Certification exam soon. I also have 5 years experience in Project Management of IT projects. With OBAMA’s new stimulus there will be a lot of construction jobs, including Project Management.
I have good Project Management skills but not a lot of skills in Construction (other than personal home improvement projects).
How do I get into the new industry using the same skills?

Question by _______: Your thoughts?? The president of World Bank has stated that “new global governance” is indeed the goal?
Speaking about the agenda to increase not just funding but power for international organizations on the back of the financial crisis, Zoellick stated, “If leaders are serious about creating new global responsibilities or governance, let them start by modernising multilateralism to empower the WTO, the IMF, and the World Bank Group to monitor national policies.”
http://www.congresscheck.com/2009/04/01/world-bank-president-admits-agenda-for-global-government/
As to be expected, Zoellick is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. He also attended the annual invitation-only conferences of the Bilderberg Group in 1991, 2003, 2006 and 2007.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will use the G20 summit in London to extend an olive branch to China, offering them a central role in the construction of a new world order and a global government, according to reports.
“Brown will hold talks with Hu Jintao, China’s president, following discussions with Barack Obama, amid signs that developing countries see the G20 summit as a chance to impose a new world order and end the era of Anglo-European dominance,” reports the Guardian.

Iron Man 2.0

So, I went to go see Elon Musk in Iron Man 2, a great Mother’s Day outing.
A pre-release Tesla Roadster was in the garage of the first movie, and the SpaceX HQ features prominently in the second. They even left a SpaceX logo in by accident, circled in red above.
I knew that SpaceX was used for filming last year, but I was surprised at how extensive it would be (all of the Hammer Industries footage with the droid army), and that the opening sequence would show a Falcon 9 rocket under construction (the same one I photographed in 2009).
In the movie, Tony Stark greets Elon Musk by name, and Elon pitches the electric jet that emerged in some of Elon’s talks last year.
How did all this come to be?
Iron Man director Jon Favreau in Time: “When I was trying to bring the character of genius billionaire Tony Stark to the big screen in Iron Man, I had no idea how to make him seem real. Robert Downey Jr. said, "We need to sit down with Elon Musk.". . . He was right. Elon is a paragon of enthusiasm, good humor and curiosity — a Renaissance man in an era that needs them.”
TechNewsDaily: “Stark channels the confidence and ambition of real-life innovator Elon Musk, in large part because Musk’s fast-lane lifestyle and technological prowess provided much inspiration for director Jon Favreau’s updated Iron Man. Musk takes on dual roles as both CEO and lead technologist for his companies Tesla Motors and SpaceX, as he relentlessly pursues futuristic visions of electric cars and private spaceflight.”
Even the pronunciation of Tony Stark sounds like Elon Musk, with similar syllables and gutturals… =)

On April, 1975, the entire nation mourned the passing of President Chiang Kai-shek. In June, in response to suggestions from all sectors, the funeral committee members decided to build the CKS Memorial Hall in Taipei, in order to commemorate the memory of our great leader. No sooner had this decision been made, than the CKS Memorial Hall Preparatory Committee was officially established. Messrs. Yu Kuo-hua, Lin Jin-sheng, Chiang Yen-shih, Kuo Kuei-yuan, Chao Chu-yu, Fei Hua, Lai Ming-tang, Hsieh Tung-min, Tsai Hung-wen, Chou Hung-tao, Chin Hsiao-yi, Chang Feng-hsu, Lin Ting-sheng, Ku Cheng-fu, Hsu You-hsiang, and Wang Yung-ching, were invited to serve as committee members, to ensure the construction of the Hall. Later, in October 1976, a CKS Memorial Hall Building, Preparatory Directing Committee was established. Messrs. Chang Chun, Ho Ying-ching, Chen Li-fu, Ni Wen-ya, Wang Yun-wu, Yu Bin, Chien Ssu-liang, Huang Shao-ku, Ku Cheng-kang, Huang Chie, Lin Bo-shou, Wu Ching-hsiung, Lien Chen-tung, Chen Chi-tien, Hsu Ching-chung, Chang Bao-shu, Hsieh Tung-min, Sun Ya-fu, Liu Kuo-tsai, Dai Yen-huei, Liu Ji-hung, Chou Bai-lien, Tsai Hung-wen, Lin Ting-sheng, and Lin Yang-kang, were invited to serve as committee directors to oversee construction of the Hall.
After careful consideration, on July 2, 1975, the Preparatory Committee chose a site west of HangJhou South Road, east of JhongShan South Road., north of AiGuo E. Road., and south of SinYi Road as the ideal location for the construction of the Hall. In addition, the Committee decided to build an underground passageway for LinSen S. Road to facilitate the overall construction plan. In August, the Committee requested architects from both at home and abroad to submit architectural designs. After a preliminary screening of the 43 submitted projects, a panel of experts short listed 5 drafts for final consideration. Upon request, these architects presented detailed blueprints and models to be adjudged by experts both at home and abroad. After examining models and consulting experts from various fields, the Committee chose the design submitted by Mr. Yang Cho-cheng. Construction details were then finalized after careful discussion. On October 31, 1976, the 90th birthday of the late President Chiang, a ground-breaking ceremony was held, marking official commencement of the construction, with the RSEA Engineering Corporation, and Veteran’s Affairs Commission contractors.
